My Grown Up Christmas List ♥

I hope that this yuletide season, more than the material things, we value the importance of intangible gifts -- knowledge, hope, peace and love.

I decided to do a "wish list", which is composed of wishes not just for me but for you as well :
1. This Christmas break, I wish that you bring down all the books and munch on them as much as you munch on all those festive dishes your mom or dad or yaya or whoever, will prepare for you! [Just refrain from eating while reading, some crumbs might fall on your pages].
2. I wish that you try to share the blessings that you have -- even if they're non-material things -- they say that "It's the thought that counts." [I suddenly thought of you, does that count?]
3. I wish that you try to read some books while waiting for Santa [or whoever it is that you will be waiting for].
4. I wish that I could read stories to young kids. You can try doing so too, with your younger cousins or siblings or neighbors. I wish that I could reach out especially to kids who cannot afford to buy their own books.
5. I wish that I could attend the Misa de Gallo , or the Simbang Gabi again to meet my old friends and to hear Christmas Carols being sung by the choirs [and not simply to go boy-hunting! Ha Ha!].
6. I wish that I could finish a book or two within the break.
7. I wish that everyone would see the coming year 2011 as a sign of new hope and learning and the year 2010, which we will be leaving or will be leaving us soon, as a year of good and bad experiences that help us become better.
8. I wish I could catch some long hours of sleep during the vacation [I'm quite deprived yet I'm happy because I know that despite the lack of sleep, I am doing something good] :)
9. I wish everyone would have a Merry Christmas! [with or without a special someone].
10. I wish that everybody would be happy. 'Tis the season to be jolly!!! ♪♫ Fa-la-la-la-la-la-laaaa ... ♫♪

My Grown Up Christmas List
Kelly Clarkson

Do you remember me
I sat upon your knee
I wrote to you
With childhood fantasies

Well, I'm all grown up now
And still need help somehow
I'm not a child
But my heart still can dream

So here's my lifelong wish
My grown up christmas list
Not for myself
But for a world in need

No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
and wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end
This is my grown up christmas list

As children we believed
The grandest sight to see
Was something lovely
Wrapped beneath our tree

Well heaven only knows
That packages and bows
Can never heal
A hurting human soul

No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end
This is my grown up christmas list

What is this illusion called the innocence of youth
Maybe only in our blind belief can we ever find the truth
(there'd be)

No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end, oh
This is my grown up christmas list
This is my only life long wish
This is my grown up christmas list
